I like to tell people I’ve done every job in journalism.

I’m an experienced nonfiction writer. My work has appeared in The Guardian, Vice, Toronto Life, Toronto Star, Canadian Business, Chatelaine, The Narwhal, Maisonneuve, TVO, Nieman Lab, Editor & Publisher, Canadian Lawyer and many more. I have a newsletter called Plucky where I write about media and feminism. I’m researching a book about the teen mags of the 1990s and 2000s.

Right now, I’m the new platforms editor for Maclean’s magazine, where I oversee social video. I launched the Indie Publisher newsletter for Indiegraf in 2020. I coordinated social media for National Observer during the 2019 Canadian federal election. And I was the managing editor of J-Source for three years.

I also teach journalism at Toronto Metropolitan University, including advanced courses on multimedia production and creative nonfiction.

In 2025, I graduated from the Stonecoast MFA program in creative writing at the University of Southern Maine.
